Page Content
When you click the Bolt icon to summarize a page, we extract the text content of that page. This content is:
- Sent to our servers for AI processing
- Not stored permanently unless you save it to your history
- Never collected without your explicit action (clicking to summarize)
Account Information
If you sign in to Bolt:
- Email address (from your authentication provider)
- User preferences and settings
- Summary history (if you choose to save it)
Usage Data
We may collect anonymized usage statistics such as:
- Number of summaries generated
- Feature usage patterns
- Error reports
How We Use Your Information
- To provide the service: Processing page content through AI to generate summaries
- To sync your data: Storing settings and history across devices when signed in
- To improve the service: Analyzing anonymized usage patterns
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to provide Bolt:
- AI Providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.): To generate summaries. Page content is sent to these providers for processing.
- Authentication Provider (Clerk): To handle sign-in functionality
- Database Provider (Neon): To store user accounts and saved data
Data Sharing
We do not:
- Sell your data to third parties
- Use your data for advertising
- Share your data except as necessary to provide the service
Data Security
- All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
- Authentication tokens are stored securely
- We follow industry-standard security practices
Data Retention
- Page content: Processed in real-time, not retained unless saved
- Account data: Retained while your account is active
- Saved summaries: Retained until you delete them
